The “cores” you speak of are Bot Fly larvae people get them from traveling to different countries. It is a fly larvae that embeds itself into your skin and feeds off of the surrounding area. To get it out of your skin you need to put Vaseline over the hole it is in in order to suffocate it enough to where it needs to pop out so it can breathe then you grab it with tweezers.
